Racing games have always been very popular with all types of players out there, largely because they offer a pretty basic experience and some adrenaline-filled races. For a long time, this genre has been identified with Electronic Arts' Need For Speed franchise, but there are other developers that have released games in this genre.

Such is the case with Rockstar, which released before the holiday season its latest iteration in the Midnight Club series, entitled Los Angeles. Now, a few months since its launch, gamers will have to get ready for the first of many DLC (Downloadable Content) packs made by the company for the title, which has been launched on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

As we have reported, the pack will be entitled South Central, and will add the famous district of Los Angeles to the map of the game. This DLC will be split into two parts, a free one, which just expands the map of the game by one third, adding the four neighborhoods that make up the district, and a premium one, which costs 9.99 dollars or 800 MS Points and adds nine new vehicles and a variety of other content.

Here are the complete features of this two-part DLC pack:

The South Central Map Expansion

• Map expansion by one third • Four new neighborhoods • Price: FREE for both Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3

South Central Premium Upgrade

• Nine new vehicles: Luxury: 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG “Black” SUV: 2008 Range Rover Supercharged, 2008 Range Rover Sport Super Charged Lowrider: 1955 Chevy Bel Air, 1963 Buick Riviera, 1964 Chevy Impala, 1965 Chevy Malibu Muscle: 1970 Chevy Chevelle, 1966 Pontiac GTO • 26 new races • 12 new battle maps • 10 new delivery missions • 100+ new red light races • New rims • New body kits for each new car • New vinyl pre-sets • Hydraulics/Airbags unlocked on all new cars • New music

All in all, gamers will certainly have a great time in Los Angeles when this DLC pack arrives, so look forward to it on March 12, because, even though it was leaked a few weeks ago onto Xbox Live, it was shortly deleted.
