A new flavor of the SoundHound application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based tablet PCs, with a great deal of enhancements packed inside, including a redesigned UI.

The application already has over 130 million users around the world, and the new iteration is aimed at all those who enjoy its capabilities on Android slates.

For them, there’s an entirely new layout and design, which aims to provide faster access to content, as well as a greatly improved browsing experience.

Starting today, the new SoundHound application can be downloaded on Google's Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets, as well as on Amazon's Kindle Fire and Kindle HD devices, the company announced.

“SoundHound on Android tablets is now not only stunning in appearance, it offers improved functionality and an enhanced experience for users,” said James Hom, SoundHound's vice president of Products.

“By utilizing the tablet's larger screen space and leveraging new tools from Google, users can much more fluidly navigate within the app and have access to more content in one location.”

The redesigned software also comes with a deeper integration with Rdio, the digital partner for the launch of the software in the United States and also the featured partner for SoundHound's interactive mapping, which shows recently played songs in the users’ area.

This SoundHound feature was launched in December with Rdio, and it has already become one of the most popular functions of the app, especially since it enables users to tap a song displayed on the map to listen to it.

“Google Nexus tablet users can access the new design by updating their SoundHound app in the Google Play store while Kindle users can do the same via the Amazon Appstore,” the company also announced.
