Sophos Endpoint 10 has a lot of useful features that can keep a company network secure

Sophos, the world renowned security services provider, released the latest variant of their endpoint security solution to incorporate some innovative technologies and new mechanisms to help companies in the fight against online threats.

An interesting component integrated in the latest product is the Sophos Patch Assessment which identifies all the security patches that need to be installed on a system. It not only scans for Microsoft patches, but also for fixes provided by other vendors such as Adobe, Citrix and Skype.

This is very important since recent reports revealed that 90% of the successful cyberattacks that take place rely on vulnerabilities that were already patched by the vendor. The Patch Assessment is highly useful since it’s very time-consuming for an IT staff to check every single computer to make sure it’s properly patched up.

Web filtering systems also got an upgrade since from now on administrators can set surfing policies for 14 inappropriate site categories which will be automatically blocked to make sure unsuspecting employees don’t access them.

“As a long-time Sophos customer, we’re particularly excited about the web control and patch assessment features in their latest Endpoint solution. The ability to reduce management time while keeping all of our employees’ machines secure is an incredible value proposition,” said Roger Dion, corporate director, Information Systems, Bell Technical Solutions about the latest product.

Another feature that’s worth mentioning is the full-disk encryption system that makes sure the precious corporate data stored on company devices is secure. In Sophos Endpoint 10, data encryption can be activated from the same console, which makes it faster and easier for IT staff to deploy.

“Our goal has always been to provide customers with complete security and protection everywhere—without complexity. The industry-first features within Sophos Endpoint 10 reaffirm that goal,” revealed Shaun Paice, vice president of product management at Sophos.
