Smellit wants to bring a fourth dimension to gaming and video

Smellit is probably one of the weirdest computing concepts to ever come in being in man's mind, but it might just add that last bit of immersion that even 3D can't give to films and games.

Right now, people can see and hear virtual realities and, in some cases, feel it (thanks to steering wheels in race games and the like).

What Nuno Teixeira wants is to add smell to the equation, and he even invented the Smellit miniature olfactory factory to do it.

Basically, this not so small item intends to produce the scents of the worlds you are watching, like brimstone during hellish game levels or sweet breezes when taking your RPG character for a walk around the seaside.

Teixeira says he already got a French company to build this thing. He also plans to show it at the Lisbon Design Show next week.
