After celebrating Vaio?s 10th anniversary, Sony thought it should hit the market with an innovative device. Therefore, it has combined two concepts ? a desktop workstation and an LCD TV, creating a full-featured TV/PC combo named VAIO LS1.

"The LS1 model is a testament to our design and engineering prowess incorporating all the power of a desktop into a showpiece design," said Mike Abary, vice president of VAIO product marketing at Sony Electronics U.S..

The VAIO LS1 TV/PC is powered by Intel?s not so new Intel Core Duo processor, and features 2GB of RAM and a 250 GB hard drive for multitasking. And as Sony couldn?t settle for less, it has launched a Windows Vista ready device that comes standard with Windows Vista Premium.

The LS1 also sports a DVD burner and the company?s DVD software in order for you to create your own digital entertainment library. But this is not all, as the TV/PC hybrid comes bundled with Microsoft?s Windows XP MCE 2005 and a built-in NTSC TV tuner providing DVR-like recording capabilities.

Sony?s LS1 has a 19? WSXGA+ LCD flat-panel display that features an enhanced 1680 x 1050 resolution. Moreover, the panel ?is backed? by Sony's patented XBRITE-HiColor technology meant for displaying crisp and sharp images.

You can also move around the house with Sony?s computer in your arms, and still have complete access to all Internet services as it has an integrated wireless LAN (802.11 b/g) technology.

The VAIO LS1 TV/PC Combo will be available in mid-September for about $2,100 at authorized retailers nationwide, online at sonystyle.com and at Sony Style stores.
