Don't know how many of you actually remember but Sony's Reader Daily Edition was set to make its debut quite a while ago, Sony announcing this 7 inch e-Ink touchscreen offering back in September, together with other two e-Readers that are already available for purchase.

Coming in with 2GB of internal storage that can be expanded via the included memory slot, this eReader features WiFi and 3G connectivity, separating itself from the other two models in the series that are stuck with USB eBook loading as they don't feature any type of wireless support.

However, similarly to the other two offerings, this also comes with a stylish aluminum chassis that is sure to add a touch of class to the Daily Edition as well as to its owner, the bundled software being also one of the high points of Sony's reader as it packs a wide array of interesting features as intuitive content zoom, adjustable contrast and brightness control, as well as automatic multiple page creation.

Furthermore, these features are accompanied by a personalized standby screen that enables users to set a screen saver for their eReader, collections functionality, that groups eBooks by author, category or other criteria, a dictionary function being also included.

This allows users to get the dictionary definition as well as the translation for any word in the text by simply double tapping it, a third tap searching for this particular word on Wikipedia.

And the best part is this functionality works even without a Web connection as the Daily Edition comes pre-installed with the New Oxford American Dictionary, Second Edition and Oxford Dictionary of English eDictionaries, as well as 10 translation dictionaries in languages such as French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch (a Wikipedia search does require a Internet connection).

Compatible with a wide series of file formats such as ePub (Adobe DRM protected), PDF (Adobe DRM protected), BBeB Book (PRS DRM protected), Text and RTF DRM-encrypted files as well as regular PDF, RTF and DOC files, to name just a few, Sony's Reader Daily Edition is available in silver and retails for about $299.
