Sony is getting ready to debut its Next Generation Portable onto the European market on November 11, at least according to multiple inside sources.

Sony presented the Next Generation Portable device, aka the PSP2, to the world in late January, alongside a variety of details about the powerful handheld console.

The Japanese company carefully avoided discussing about two major details: its price and when it is launched.

Now, according to MCV, Sony has seemingly set a European release date for the new portable device, which is November 11.

Previously, Sony stated only that it will be launched in at least one territory before the end of the year, with Japan having the most chances to see the NGP in 2011.

Now, MCV says that multiple third party developers from Europe have received a deadline for the end of summer, when Sony wants all games ready for release onto its Next Generation Portable.

As you can imagine, the company hasn't commented on this rumor.

The President of the Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide studios, Shuhei Yoshida, did reveal that a variety of experiences would be delivered onto the NGP, in order to please any type of gamer.

"We are working on our popular series as well as brand new concepts, large games and short form games, augmented reality games, touch only games and network only games," he said. "We are also looking to expand over time from hardcore to casual games, games for younger consumers and non-game applications as well."

We still don't know the actual price the NGP will have when it is eventually launched.

Reports seem to range from $250, which is the same price tag its biggest rival will have, the Nintendo 3DS, to $300 or more.

Sony did say that it's learned its lesson with prohibitive pricing from the launch of the PlayStation 3, which had a tag of $599 and barely managed to sell until price cuts were made.
