Sony is very well aware of the importance of inFamous, the latest high budget title to be released for the PlayStation 3 home gaming console. So, the company has announced that it plans to release a bundle for the game in order to get more players to buy it. Not to be left behind, Microsoft has also announced that it plans to introduce a very attractive Gears of War bundle in the coming days.

The Sony bundle will include an 80 GB hard drive PlayStation 3 and a copy of inFamous, a game that allows the player to control a superpowered hero that can either be a force for good or for evil in a partially destroyed city.

Initial reviews for the title are rather positive, so the bundle might help Sony improve sales of the PS3, although, at the moment, we only know for sure that the offer is available in the United Kingdom, with confirmation for the rest of Europe and North America still pending. The price is the equivalent of 476 dollars and Amazon even offers it with a discount.

Microsoft is set to counter this move by releasing a bundle that puts together a Pro version of its gaming console and copies of both the original Gears of War and multi million dollar selling Gears of War 2. At the moment, the bundle has been confirmed for Australia and will cost gamers the equivalent of 350 dollars when it becomes officially available on June 4.

It's nice to see that Sony and Microsoft are interested in offering deals that put together hardware and software as summer approaches. It's a quick and cheap way of creating a burst in hardware sales, as people who have not yet gotten into gaming can buy both a console and a blockbuster game at the same time.
