The purple variant can only be found at brick and mortar stores

Good news for Sony fans in Canada, as SaskTel is the second carrier in the country that adds the Xperia Z2 to its portfolio of high-end Android smartphones. For those unfamiliar, Bell was said to be the only carrier in Canada to sell the Xperia Z2, but it looks like regional operator SaskTel was able to stock the flagship smartphone as well.

Although the smartphone went on sale at SaskTel over the weekend, the purple Xperia Z2 is already out of stock online.

This means that customers who prefer to order online will only be able to grab the black Xperia Z2 for $180 (€120) on two-year agreements.

However, the Xperia Z2 in purple may still be available at SaskTel’s brick and mortar stores, so if you are allergic to the black color, you might want to check out the carrier’s stores for the purple one.

For the time being, it’s unclear whether or not the purple Xperia Z2 was ever available online or SaskTel plans to offer it only through its store locations.

The Xperia Z2 is a hard to come by smartphone these days, as Sony is unable to fulfil all pre-orders in the countries where the high-end device was introduced. In fact, the Japanese company had to delay the launch of the smartphone in several countries because of high demand.

This doesn’t seem to have changed in the last couple of weeks, so one of the reasons that SaskTel wasn’t able to stock more purple Xperia Z2 units could be the fact that Sony wasn’t able to deliver it.

Other Xperia smartphones announced earlier this year are in high demand as well, and some of them were delayed in some countries as well. Hopefully, the situation will improve in the next weeks and Sony fans will be able to grab their favorite devices sooner, rather than later.

One of the most powerful Android smartphones available on the market, the Xperia Z2, is delivered with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box.

The flagship smartphone comes packed with a powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and no less than 3GB of RAM.

The Xperia Z2 features 16GB of internal memory, but users can add up to 128GB storage via microSD card slot. Another string point of the phone is the 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera and the IP58 certification that the device is dust- and waterproof.

The handset also boasts a vibrant 5.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features TRILUMINOUS and X-Reality Engine technologies.
