Unveiled earlier this month at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014, Sony Xperia Z1 went on sale in Sweden a few days ago. Following the release in Sweden, Sony made the handset available in Finland.

Esphoneblog reports customers can now purchase the Xperia Z1 Compact via major retailer Gigantti for no less than €515 ($705) off contract.

However, keep in mind that Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is only available in pink, while other colors will hit shelves in just a few days. Customers will then be able to choose from four color options: black, white, pink and yellow.

Other retailers in Finland are still listing the Xperia Z1 as pre-order, which means that for the time being Gigantti is the sole authorized reseller that is offering the smartphone.

As previously announced, Sony Xperia Z1 Compact will ship with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. Still, the Japanese company confirmed an Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade will be available in the coming months.

Hardware-wise, the Xperia Z1 Compact comes equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

In addition, the smartphone is packed with 16GB of storage inside, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

Unlike the Xperia Z1 that sports a 5-inch full HD display, the Xperia Z1 Compact comes with a slightly smaller 4.3-inch HD (720p) capacitive touchscreen display that features TRILUMINOUS technology and X-Reality Engine for mobiles.

On the back, the handset boasts an impressive 20.7-megapixel photo snapper, which features autofocus, LED flash, full HD (1080p) video recording and HDR. There’s also a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front.

Sony Xperia Z1 compact is IP58 certified (dust and water resistant) and is powered by a 2300 mAh battery, which is rated for up to 670 hours of standby time (600 hours in 3G mode) or up to 10 hours of talk time (18 hours in 3G mode).
