The LTE model of the tablet received the update first

Last week Sony officially announced it was rolling out the Android 4.3 update for its Xperia Tablet Z, but the launch only included the cellular capable version of the slate, so owners of the Wi-Fi only version were left high and dry.

But it didn’t take long before the update arrived for the latter model as well. The improved Android build is now available for SGP311 and SGP312 Wi-Fi models and updates the firmware to version 10.4.B.0.577.

The upgrade is a 793MB download and, according to Xperia Blog, it is not available as an OTA (over-the-air) update, so it can be accessed only via PC Companion or the Sony Update Service.

On top of the usual Android 4.3 features and Sony’s own set of goodies, the update will bring some novelties in terms of software such as a new home launcher (similar to the one on the Sony Xperia Z1), the Sony Smart Social camera, Xperia Themes and new battery Stamina mode.
