Today, Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has officially announced the upcoming availability of its Sony Xperia T3 smartphone in India.

The handset, revealed to the world last month, will land on the market in India with a price tag of Rs. 27,990 ($465 / €346) attached to it, Sony has revealed.

Moreover, the company has announced that the smartphone will be released in three color versions, namely Black, White, and Purple, and that users will be able to purchase it starting July 28, fonearena reports.

As the handset’s price tag suggests, it will land on shelves as a mid-range device, though it will still be able to provide users with some great performance capabilities.

The mobile phone will also deliver an appealing viewing experience, courtesy of a 5.3-inch TRILUMINOS Display for mobile with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, capable of delivering an HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution.

Moreover, Sony Xperia T3 is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, paired with Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM, which will ensure that users indeed receive the aforementioned performance levels.

Sony has also included 8GB of internal memory in this smartphone, along with a microSD memory card slot, thus allowing users to add up to 32GB of additional storage space to it.

On the back, the Sony Xperia T3 features an 8-megapixel camera with Sony Exmor RS sensor, and LED flash, which is capable of recording videos in full HD resolution.

Additionally, the smartphone comes with a 1.1MP camera on the front, capable of HD video, which will allow users to enjoy appealing video chatting capabilities while on the go.

Connectivity-wise, the mobile phone features support for 4G LTE and 3G HSPA+ networks, along with the usual WiFi 820.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz / 5GHz) and Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities. Moreover, it also sports NFC connectivity, and a GPS receiver with A-GPS and GLONASS.

Sony Xperia T3 also features a thin body, at only 7mm thick, and weighs 148 grams. It is powered by a 2500mAh Battery that also sports Sony’s battery saving STAMINA mode.

The handset runs under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right from the start, with various Sony applications and exclusive software features loaded on top.

All in all, Sony’s Xperia T3 should easily prove an appealing smartphone option for many users in India, as well as for people in other markets out there. However, it remains to be seen how well it will fare against mid-range phones coming from rival companies.
