US-based carrier T-Mobile has a long-time partnership with Sony thanks to which Android fans in the United States have been offered plenty of smartphones in the Xperia family.

It appears that the partnership between the two companies will soon come to fruition once again and Sony fans that prefer T-Mobile as their main carrier will be pleased to know that they will be able to pick one of the latest mid-range phablets announced by the Japanese handset maker.

According to @evleaks, Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is about to make its debut at T-Mobile USA in the not so distant future. We don’t expect the Magenta carrier to bring both single-SIM and dual-SIM versions of Xperia T2 Ultra in the US, but customers will certainly be able to grab the former.

Currently, Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is only available in a few countries, such as India, but has yet to be released in any well-developed markets.

Unfortunately for Android fans in the United States, there is no ETA for Sony Xperia T2 Ultra’s release at T-Mobile, but the carrier should make an official statement in the coming weeks if the rumor is accurate.

As mentioned earlier, the Xperia T2 Ultra is a mid-range smartphone that includes quite a few of Sony’s most beloved technologies, including TRILUMINOUS display and innovative smart social camera system that allows devs to make camera add-ons that enable functionality.

Hardware-wise, Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is packed with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 chipset, which is also used inside Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 and, more recently, in the HTC Desire 816.

The Xperia T2 Ultra’s quad-core CPU is clocked at 1.4GHz and is accompanied by an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM. The smartphone also feature 8GB of storage and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to32GB).

Sony Xperia T2 Ultra can be easily tagged as a phablet given its huge 6-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and Mobile BRAVIA engine 2 technology.

The main camera is also one of the main selling points of the phablet. It features 13-megapixels, autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. The smartphone also sports a 1.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

Design-wise, Xperia T2 Ultra follows the same rectangular form factor as the Xperia Z, Z1 and Z2, but at a larger scale. Despite its huge size, the device is only 7.7mm thin and weighs 170g (battery included).
