Good news for Android fans in Canada, as Sony has just released its newest mid-range device, the Xperia M4 Aqua.

Although the smartphone has been confirmed to arrive at all major carriers in Canada, for the time being, the Xperia M4 Aqua is only available at Videotron.

Videotron sells the smartphone for $300 (€266) outright, but customers can also pick this one up for as low as $30 (€26.6) on two-year agreements.

Other carriers in Canada are expected to start offering the Xperia M4 Aqua in the coming days, probably for the same pricing options.

Bell, Fido, Virgin Mobile and WIND Mobile will add the smartphone to their Android portfolios soon, so those who prefer one of these carriers won't have to wait too long.

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua ships with the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system out of the box and features a decent 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

It's IP68 certified and packs non-removable battery

Hardware-wise, Sony's mid-range smartphone is equipped with a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.

If that amount of storage is not enough for you, then you can expand it up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, the device packs a 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while on the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

As the name suggests, Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is IP68 certified, which means it's dust and water-proof up to 1.5 meter and 30 minutes.

It's also worth mentioning that the smartphone is powered by a non-removable 2,400 mAh battery and offers a range of connectivity options, including LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC (Near Field Communication), microUSB 2.0, and GPS with AGPS.
