Good news for Android fans in Canada, as Bell is about to bring two new Android smartphones in the country, the Sony Xperia M and HTC Desire 601.

According to MobileSyrup, both mid-range smartphones will be available for purchase beginning November 7 for prices that will be unveiled closer to launch.

Keep in mind that Bell will carry the single SIM version of Xperia M, as the dual-SIM version is aimed at emerging markets.

Nevertheless, the single-SIM variant of Sony Xperia M is a solid choice for those who cannot afford a more expensive Android smartphone.

It comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and packs a decent 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor.

The Xperia M features an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

The 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution and 245ppi (pixel density), as well as scratch-resistant glass coating.

Last but not least, the smartphone is powered by a 1750 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide up to 552 hours of standby time or up to 10 hours of talk time.

The second smartphone to hit shelves at Bell, HTC Desire 601 ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean platform onboard and a slightly better 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor.

The Desire 601 packs the same Android 305 graphics processing unit and sports 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. Users can further expand storage up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

The phone also features a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 245ppi (pixel density).

It comes with HSDPA (42Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76Mbps), LTE Cat 4, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, as well as GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS.
