Unveiled earlier this month, the budget-friendly Sony Xperia E1 is now available for pre-order in the UK. Obviously, customers in the UK can only pre-purchase the single SIM version of the Xperia E1, as the dual-SIM model is aimed at emerging markets.

The first major retailer for take pre-orders for Sony Xperia E1 is Clove UK. Those who wish to make sure they get the device can pre-purchase it for just £135 / €165/ $225 outright via Clove.

Only the white and black color options are now available for pre-order, but Sony also announced the Xperia E1 will be available in purple as well.

It is also worth mentioning that Clove does not know when exactly the Xperia E1 will arrive in stock: “We are taking pre-orders for both the Black & White colors.

This is still subject to change, but should be reasonably accurate. There is no word on when the first ones will arrive for sure, but it should be soon, we will keep you up to date.”

Although it’s been tagged as a budget-friendly smartphone, the Xperia E1 packs quite decent features for its price. The device ships with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, which is not so bad for such a cheap handset.

On the inside, the Xperia E1 is equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (Cortex-A7) processor clocked at 1.2GHz, an Adreno 302 graphics processing unit and 512MB of RAM.

It also packs 4GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). On the back, the device features a 3-megapixel photo snapper, but it lacks secondary camera.

Sony Xperia E1 sports a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution featuring scratch-resistant glass coating. The phone is powered by a 1750 mAh battery and offers HSDPA (21Mbps), HSUPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity options.
