Sony launched the Xperia C Dual-SIM in India about two weeks ago and now the smartphone has been tipped for Malaysia.

According to XperiaBlog, the mid-range dual-SIM smartphone will be released in Malaysia as early as next week for only RM 999 outright, which is about $315 or €230.

The smartphone has just appeared on the Malaysian Sony Store website with the “coming soon” tag attached to it. There's no telling when exactly the Xperia C Dual-SIM will go on sale, but stay tuned for more updates on this one.

Sony Xperia C Dual-SIM is among the most popular handsets available for purchase in India and will probably be a best-seller in Malaysia as well.

Aside from bringing users dual-SIM support, the smartphone ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. Moreover, rumor has it that the Xperia C will receive a major upgrade to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean at some point in Q4 2013.

The handset boasts a huge 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 220ppi (pixel density).

On the inside, the Xperia C Dual-SIM packs a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor, a PowerVR SGX544 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Even though the smartphone comes with only 4GB of internal memory, users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

On the back, the phone sports an enhanced 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front, there's a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

Last but not least, Xperia C Dual-SIM is powered by a high-capacity 2390 mAh Li-Ion battery, which should provide up to 588 hours (605 hours in 3G mode) of standby time or up to 14 hours (12 hours in 3G mode) of talk time.
