Sony's robot dog, AIBO, has received a new memory, that will be called from now on AIBO ERS-7M3. This latest update comes with another interesting feature: speech interaction.

With a vocabulary of 1,000 words, AIBO will be capable to understand commands and even have conversations, provided that there are not too complex. So don't' expect AIBO to understand philosophic concepts!

The voice can be edited, so that AIBO's owners would be able to define the gender and age. In addition, AIBO also knows 35 commands in Spanish.

And since the blog is very hip these days, AIBO will also be able to write its own blog, which will be easy to upload on the Internet. The blog of an AIBO will also contain images and short comments, but the robot dog can also be assigned to read headlines, because its new memory includes a RSS reader.

AIBO will be controlled via the Internet from a remote location, so the owners will have the possibility to interact with their "pet" wherever there is an Internet connection.

For the next upgrade, Sony wants to introduce even more elements in the robot's personality, so that every owner can brag about having a unique mechanized dog.

The price for one unit is approximately $1,200, while versions 1 and 2 can be upgraded for $100.
