Disappointing sales don't leave much alternative, apparently

We just talked about the Sony Tablet S and how it had finally reached India, but it looks like Sony might be setting itself up to learn the same lesson as the one it got taught in the UK.

The Tablet S is, simply put, just too expensive.

Granted, Sony didn't actually say this up front, but the market knows when a product doesn't sell well and, even if indirectly, the company itself did just confirm it.

The Item has just received a fairly big price cut in the UK, of £50 that is ($78.74 / 58.49 Euro).

Where it used to be £399 for the 16GB Wi-Fi-only model and £479 for the 32GB one, now the two are sold for £349 and £429.

No doubt the existence of $200 tablets, even if they are smaller, is putting pressure on Sony, not just the more competitive, 'regular' slates out there.
