Looks like Sony's on yet another release "frenzy", as it keeps pumping out various digital photography-related products almost on a daily basis. And among all sorts of new cameras, digital photo frames, etc., the Japanese company has also rolled out two new portable digital photo printers, which allow users to print out their favorite photos even while being on the road, namely the DPP-FP95 and DPP-FP75.

The DPP-FP95 is the most advanced model of the two, so, obviously, the people from Sony have thrown in the mix some of their most advanced technologies. Thus, first of all, the device uses the company's already famous Bionz digital imaging processor, which provides a greater level of compatibility with photos taken with Sony's Cyber-shot and alpha DSLR cameras (for example, the device can access data in the picture files and use this data to create the best print based on the settings used when the photo was taken).

Furthermore, the printer has been equipped with a 3.6-inch adjustable LCD screen on the which allows users to carry out various editing operations. Thus, there's an auto touch-up feature that corrects exposure, sharpens focus, removes red-eye and smooths the skin tones of people, but also a filter function that allows users to modify various specific characteristics of the respective digital photo.

Beside the already "classical" connectivity options, the device from Sony also sports a HDMI output, which means that users can view the photos on their HDTV prior to actually printing them.

The DPP-FP75 model offers a new icon-based menu system on its large, 3.5-inch screen. This model has basic editing functions that allow users to enlarge, reduce, rotate and adjust the color of your photos before you print. It is compatible with several types of flash memory cards, including Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick PRO Duo, SD Memory Card, MMC, and xD- Picture Card. The same applies to the DPP-FP95, although this particular model also supports Compact Flash and Microdrive flash memory cards. Moreover, both new models are compatible with most PictBridge-enabled cameras.

It's also important to note that, in order to ensure a continuous color tone and to protect the prints against fading, both units also use dye-sublimation technology with SuperCoat 2 laminate, a durable coating that protects photos from water, heat and fingerprints.

Both the DPP-FP95 and DPP-FP75 digital photo printers are slated to arrive in stores at some point in April, for around $200 and $150, respectively, which makes them some pretty OK solutions, especially for amateur photographers.
