Patent infringement accusations fly all over the place, again

As sad as it sounds, Samsung and Apple have taught the IT industry to be bold and vicious in attacking each other over presumed patent infringements.

This time, we have Sony suing RED for technologies used in the RED One, Epic and Scarlet professional video cameras, as well as various accessories and modules.

Sony says RED is illegally using seven of its patents and, thus, should pay damages and cease selling them immediately.

RED's reaction? A rather dry statement on the part of the company's CEO Jim Jannard. "Seems like someone is nervous... it just isn't me."

The man is obviously referring to the fact that Sony only sued RED after RED itself sued the company last month, for "willful and wanton" patent infringement with products like F65, F55, and F5 cameras.
