It appears that HP and Toshiba aren't the only companies that are making progress on the tablet market, as Sony has also made some progress in this area, in the form of a promo video for the S1 and S2 tablets.

Even though its recent months haven't been the greatest, what with cyber attacks and whatnot, Sony is moving forward with its product development and releases.

This was made more than clear by the appearance of the Vaio J all-in-one computer that only a short time ago get officially announced.

Meanwhile, Sony's activities on the mobile front have been going along as before, more or less, with even a pair of tablets getting closer to their final forms.

Said two slates are the S1 and S2 which were unveiled as far back as April and have since made progress in their design and marketing acceptance.

The recently gained FCC approval definitely earned the duo a few points, even though their availability is still a few months away.

More specifically, the two products will only start selling in September of this year (2011).

The date is a bit late compared to the HP Touchpad and Toshiba Thrive, but the novelty (especially the dual-display nature of the S2) might make up for it.

Either way, Sony decided not to let too much time pass without some sort of update, so it provided a short promo video of both electronics.

For those that want reminders, the S1 and S2 are based on the NVIDIA Tegra 2 ARM SoC (system-on-chip) and have one 9.4-inch screen and two 5.5-inch displays, respectively.

Complete specifications are still unavailable, but this is not a surprise considering just how much time still has to pass before shipments commence.

Those interested in either of Sony's inventions can watch the aforementioned video below.
