A new survey released onto the web says that Sony's Next Generation Portable console will cost between $250 and $350.

Sony presented the NGP back in January, but declined to say just how it will be priced or when it is launched onto the market.

As such, plenty of people have begun speculating on what its price might be, especially in comparison to the Nintendo 3DS, which is set to appear later this month for $250.

Now, a new survey, conducted by Ubisoft, reveals the presumed price of the two versions of the Next Generation Portable.

According to the poll, there will be a standard NGP, with only Wi-Fi connectivity, priced at $250, just like the 3DS.

For those that want to stay connected wherever they are, a 3G-enabled NGP will also be offered, costing $350.

While this is hardly a concrete confirmation of the prices sported by the two NGP versions, they do seem extremely plausible, especially when compared to the competition.

Sony, for its part, has said that the pricing of the new device will be "competitive" and that it has learned its lesson from the PlayStation 3, which was launched with an extremely high price tag that resulted in lackluster sales.

The Next Generation Portable will be one of the most powerful handheld consoles out there, with its hardware being praised by plenty of third-party developers, including Epic Games, which is bringing its Unreal Engine to the successor of the PlayStation Portable.

Its features are also quite impressive, with Sony listening to fans and adding things like a second analog stick, a touchscreen interface as well as a touch-sensitive trackpad on the back of the device.

As of yet, however, pricing and release details are still unknown, so there's nothing left but to speculate o how Sony will handle the launch and price tag of the Next Generation Portable.
