NWZS610 and NWZA810 Walkmans are going to be cheaper

There is even more great news for Sony's fans, besides that concerning the Rolly's launch. For reasons unknown, the giant company decided to take after some other big fish in the industry and cut the prices of some products. I just wonder why they chose two player versions that have barely made their entrance on the market?

Therefore, after Apple operated some important price cuts for the iPhone, as well as releasing some new iPods, Sony gets its Walkman's price tags slashed. Thus, two of the most popular models, dubbed NWZA810 and NWZS610, are going to receive new tags, meaning the 2GB A810 Walkman gets 20 bucks off and will retail for 120 bucks, 150 bucks for the 4GB one and $200 for the 8GB one. Meanwhile, the other player, S610 Walkman starts at 100 bucks for the 2Gb model, 130 or 180 bucks for the 4GB and 8GB, respectively.

To remind you some of the most important features of the players, I should tell you that the S610 series packs the same QVGA resolution, but in a smaller 1.8 inch display and a built-in FM tuner, in addition to what the A810 features.

However, both players support USB Mass Storage file transfer, AVC (H.264/AVC) and MPEG-4 encoded video file, as well as AAC, MP3 and DRM WMA audio file formats, without the annoying ATRAC and SonicStage software.

Too bad the cool B100 Walkman, which was introduced at more or less the same time as the other two ones, is going to keep its old price, 60 bucks for the 1GB model and up to 80 for the 2GB one.

As much as I'd want to be insanely happy about Sony's good intentions, I still cannot take my eyes off the new iPod Nano with 8GB storage capacity, mostly because of its shiny price tag of 199 bucks. Apart from boasting a much better screen, it provides a 24 hours audio playing time and more...
