It appears that TVs and monitors aren't the only consumer panels that exist, or will exist, on the IT market, as soon as November 13, 2011 comes around at least.

Sony is known for many things, like its display range, consumer electronics, its game consoles and getting hacked.

Apparently, someone really has it out for the company, as the PlayStation network has been compromised several times (or more).

This doesn't mean the company is going down, however, or that it will stop promoting its PlayStation consoles, games and other products.

One such other product is the PlayStation 3D Display, a stereoscopic 3D panel that uses VA panel technology (Vertical Alignment) and boasts quad-speed frame sequential display technology.

In other words, it minimizes crosstalk distortion, even as the 24-inch panel has the native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

Speaking of specifications, the LCD has viewing angles of 176 degrees, a response time of 4ms GTG and can work in frame packing, top and bottom and side-by-side 3D modes. Additionally, stereo 20 -channel speakers with subwoofer are present.

With a shipment date of November 13, 2011, the Sony PlayStation 3D display will have a price of $499.99 (364.24 Euro, based on exchange rates).

A pair of 3D glasses is included in the package, with extras set to cost for $69.99 (about 50 Euro). They have a rechargeable lithium ion battery that can last for up to 30 hours (charging takes, more or less 45 minutes).

"The 3D Display was made to play 3D games right out of the box. For the MSRP of $499.99, you get the 3D Display, one pair of 3D Glasses, MotorStorm Apocalypse Blu-ray game, and an HDMI cable. All you need to do is hook up your PS3 system and you’re ready to go," a statement by Sony reads.
