Popular PSP titles will sell for half the price

Sony Computer Entertainment America plans on expanding the Greatest Hits lineup for PSP. With a cheap $19.99 price, this almost guarantees an increase in sales since the collection features the most popular games released for the handheld console up to date. The half price offer has lined up titles like Ape Escape: On the Loose, ATV Off-Road Fury: Blazin' Trails, Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee, Twisted Metal: Head On and Wipeout Pure. The second massive addition is scheduled autumn and will feature Lumines, Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition and Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade to name a few. Incidentally, the last two will also have sequels released this fall.

According to SCEA senior VP of marking Peter Dille, "Summer is typically the industry's lightest season for new titles". It seems summer is still a good time to take advantage of older titles as stated: "Releasing the PSP 'Greatest Hits' now benefits many consumers who find themselves with more downtime, whether they're on a plane headed on a vacation or simply trying to beat the heat at home."

PSP is not the only Sony console getting a sweeter deal. PlayStation 2 Greatest Hits titles were recently announced, as Jak X: Combat Racing, SOCOM 3, Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, Shadow of the Colossus and Ratchet: Deadlocked have too proved their quality. In fact, every major console dealer has this going already. It's good that the games are at a steady price, because you should know that they're entertaining enough and hold good histories in the market. With a lot of games worth buying and prices finally dropping, players are content they won't have to spend 40$ on their next Sony gaming title.
