As the launch date nears for the MMO Planetside 2, the development at Sony issues a warning to all those who are trying to cheat in the game, saying that it will not hesitate to ban all those who are found guilty of trying to get ahead via nefarious means.

It seems that the biggest problem at the moment are aim-bot hacks, which allow players to shoot better than their competitors and offer an unfair advantage to all those who use them.

Taina Rodriguez, the senior public relations manager working at Sony Online Entertainment, tells PCGamesN that, “We are aware of the issue. SOE takes player use of in-game cheats very seriously. Players who use cheats ruin the gameplay experience for the entire community and SOE will continue to be extremely aggressive in detecting and banning players who use cheats.”

Aim-bots have been a problem with other titles that focus on shooting as their main mechanic and developers have traditionally been able to detect their use and then quickly ban those who were infringing on the rules.

Planetside 2 is a MMO which wants players to use their skills in order to triumph on the battlefield.

There are no dice rolls behind the scenes and the ability that each player has with his weapon and movement will determine how well he performs.

The MMO aspect of the game is linked to the overall design, which includes three continents to explore and the ability to group together in order to deploy more resources, use buildings and unique vehicles.

Planetside 2 will be launched exclusively on the PC on November 20 of this year.

The game uses a free-to-play system, which means that anyone interested can experience all the content that Sony Online Entertainment has created and that subscribers can get a number of advantages when it comes to experience acquisition and some other areas of the MMO.
