Up to 55-inch sizes, advanced image processing technologies

As we've been able to see quite clearly over the past few months, Sony is quite keen on "conquering" the European market, at least as far as high-definition TV sets are concerned. The Japanese company has launched quite an impressive number of models this year and doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon, the best examples of this policy being Sony's latest announcement, regarding the BRAVIA X4500 and W4500 series.

Touted by the company as the flagship of the entire BRAVIA family, the X4500 series is available in three screen sizes (40-inch, 46-inch, 55-inch) and is capable of delivering Full HD 1080p pictures and dynamic sound, thus helping users achieve that enhanced cinematographic experience they've always dreamed about.

In order to be able to deliver high-quality images, the X4500 series packs, according to Sony, the most advanced technology they have in store. For example, the device includes the BRAVIA ENGINE 2 PRO for image optimization, while the new RGB Dynamic LED backlight technology (46, 55-inch models only) improves the colors and contrast and reduces the power consumption.

Moreover, the 46 and 55-inch models from the X4500 series also incorporate Motionflow PRO100Hz technology, which helps improve the transition effects, as well the latest-generation DRC (Digital Reality Creation) 3.0 technology, which boosts the resolution to stream a Full HD 1080p picture. The large 55-inch model also packs 6 main speakers and 2 woofer speakers, while the smaller versions include only 4 main speakers.

The W4500 series is a bit less impressive than its sibling. It's available in three screen sizes (40-inch, 46-inch, 52-inch), with the external design being inspired by Sony's 'Draw the Line' design concept. It does feature many of the picture innovations of the X4500 model, but at a slightly downscaled level (BRAVIA ENGINE 2 and Motionflow 100Hz - no PRO in there), so it will probably also be a bit more affordable.

Unfortunately, Sony has provided no information regarding the pricing of the new BRAVIA HDTV series, but we're likely to find that out for ourselves in the following weeks, when these new models will hit the shelves across various European markets.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
