Today seems to be Sony's lucky day, therefore I am going to deliver another surprisingly good piece of news for its fans.

After introducing two of the company's latest additions to its portfolio for the European customers, such as the NWZ-A810 and S610 Walkman, Sony officially announced a brand new item, dubbed the NW-S710 Walkman.

Rumors say the device is identical to the NWZ-S610 player, with a couple of extra minor capabilities, such as the Noise Canceling. This option is said to eliminate all the unnecessary outside noise that might interfere when we're listening to music. Still, it's no breath of fresh air, at all. The new player is going to be available in three different storage capacities, of 2GB, 4GB and 8GB.

Besides its S610-like design features, the S710 features an integrated QVGA 1.8-inch screen display, as well as other integrated options, such as the common FM tuner. Its capabilities are going to include some of the most popular file formats on the market.

So the device will be able to deal with Mp3, WMA, AAC, Atrac/Atrac Advanced Lowless, JPEG, MPEG-4 AVC and H.264, requiring an USB 2.0/MTP for both data content loading and alternative battery charging. Apart from these capabilities, the player's battery life is rated at up to 33 hours of continuous audio files playing, as well as 9.30 hours of video content playback.

Other technical details in the player's specification list include its convenient dimensions of 79.5 x 42 x 11.5 x 13 mm and a lightweight of 52 grams.

In case you're wondering about the S710's availability and pricing details, Sony announced it's going to be available for sale starting October, in various color versions of white, red, blue and black. Sadly, there's no word on the price tag.
