There are almost 30 new features added for both F5 and F55 models

Renowned electronics manufacturer Sony has just announced the availability of a new firmware update, namely version 3.0, for its F5 and F55 CineAlta 4K cameras as well as Sony AXS-R5 Recorder.

The release brings lots of new features for both F5 and F55 cameras and comes with a few improvements for the AXS-R5 model. Among them we can find added RAW recording support using the 2K RAW HFR format, RAW playback via F5/F55’s connectors, user definable clip naming, and an improved update operation.

On the other hand, the F5 and F55 models have received almost 30 new features through version 3.0. Among them we can spot XAVC QFHD 38400x2160 and MPEG HD 1280x720 recording support, Slow and Quick motion on XAVC 4K and QFHD from 1FPS to 60FPS, and Center Scan mode for Super 16mm lenses.

The F5 and F55 can now show available FPS on RAW recording from 1FPS to 240FPS. If you shoot HFR faster than 60FPS, you can now select Center Scan mode or Full Scan mode alternatively for Slow and Quick motion shooting.

AES/EBU format digital audio input is also available through the new update, adding four channel audio inputs using two AES/EBU connectors. Moreover, you can now save up to 64 Scene and Lens Files via an SD memory card that can be loaded to the internal memory whenever needed.

In addition to that, new User LUT and four types of Sony Look Profiles were added for Monitor LUT selection, allowing you to create User LUT by via RAW Viewer 2.1. Up to 6 User LUT can be stored on the camera's internal memory using an SD card.
