There hasn't been much talk about Sony Ericsson's Xperia pro smartphone since it was announced earlier this year at the 2011 Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona.

This is about to change, as the device was unexpectedly listed by Sony Ericsson's official UK webstore, which is now taking pre-orders for the Xperia pro.

In this regard, those who wish to pre-order the phone must pay no less than £349.99 to receive the phone SIM free when it is available.

Sony Ericsson vaguely mentions that the phone will hit shelves in June, without revealing any further details.

The handset is one of the next generation Xperia smartphones introduced in February, along with Xperia PLAY, Xperia Neo and Xperia arc.

The phone's slider form factor seems to make it the perfect option as business phone, especially that it comes with the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform on board.

Equipped with a single core Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon 1 GHz processor, Xperia pro features a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard that allows users to text faster.

Although the device embeds 1GB of internal memory, only 320MB are user available. In addition, Xperia pro features 512MB RAM as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB memory card included).

Another strong point of the phone is the 3.7-inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive multi-touch screen, which is based on Sony's Mobile BRAVIA Engine.

A wide range of connectivity features have been included as well: HSDPA (7.2 Mbps), HSUPA (5.8 Mbps), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA function, Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, and built-in GPS.

In addition, the phone boasts an 8-megapixel monster camera with autofocus, LED flash, touch focus, face and smile detection and video recording capabilities (720p@30fps), as well as secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Sony Ericsson Xperia pro is powered by a 1500 mAh Li-Polymer battery that should provide up to 430 hour of standby time or up to 7 hours of talk time.
