The Sony Ericsson Xperia X2, the successor of the Windows Mobile-powered Xperia X1, has been recently spotted into the wild, and now a new series of photos with the device is available over the web, allowing us to take a better look at what the handset should look like when it will come to the market.

The first thing that everyone can observe when looking at the new image is that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 is all dressed up in silver, and that, we might add, it suits it just fine. In addition, we should also mention the sleek design of the phone and the PC-like keys it features. At the same time, it seems that these shots are the first ones to show the device close enough to allow us to have a look at the Windows Mobile 6.5 platform it is expected to come with.

For those who missed the first article on the specification list of the Xperia X2, we should mention that the handset is expected to come with an 8.1-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and video recording capabilities (VGA @ 30fps - MP4 HQ), as well as with a 3.5-inch WVGA OLED display, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, accelerometer, GPS/aGPS, a faster processor compared to its predecessor, and 512MB of RAM.

In addition, the device should also feature a custom Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, which should deliver a fast user experience when compared to other high-end mobile phones, modified XPERIA Panels that now include a wide range of new features, and upgradability to Windows Mobile 7 OS, which is also supported by the new Xperia panels. Hopefully, Sony Ericsson will not make us wait too long before releasing the device into the wild, and an official announcement will follow soon, so stay tuned to learn more details on this.
