Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson has been long rumored to plan on coming to the market with its own handset powered by Google's Android operating system, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 (also known as Rachael), and now the device has made another appearance in the wild, in a series of new photos and with some specs available.

The new photos with XPERIA X3 surfaced on the web via Mobile Crunch, and, although they are not the press photos that we are all expecting, they do show the phone in a new light. One thing that is certain here is that the Sony Ericsson Android-based handset will prove one of the most appealing phones running under Google's OS, at least when it comes to looks.

On the specs side things are looking great too, though nothing is official here just yet. According to the news, we should expect for the XPERIA X3 to come to the market with a 1GHz processor, as well as with a 4-inch touchscreen display that boasts an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, not to mention the supposed 8.1-megapixel photo snapper with flash and video recording capabilities, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and the entire series of connectivity options.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 has also been rumored to come around with a great user interface, and things might turn out to be just as any Android user out there would wish for. However, the phone will certainly not be cheap, and this is something that one can expect from an XPERIA device, though we should wait for the official announcement to see how much it will cost.

Sony Ericsson is expected to announce the Android device sometime in November, and some of the latest rumors around the web also suggest that it might re-brand the device as XPERIA X10, while delivering it to the market starting with the first quarter of next year. The official details should emerge in the near future, so stay tuned to learn more on this.
