Sony Ericsson W890, one of the latest handsets from the Walkman series, is now available in India and is set to lure Indian mobile users who need a good looking phone with evolved music and multimedia capabilities.

W890 is a candybar phone that weighs only 78 grams, measures 104 x 46.5 x 10 millimeters and packs HSDPA, GPRS and EDGE connectivity. Its music features include Walkman Player 3.0, TrackID to identify tracks based on audio-fingerprints, SensMe, to play music based on users' mood, PlayNow for easy and fast MP3 downloads, FM Radio with RDS, MegaBass and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP. Moreover, the handset comes with a 2GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) card, a 240 x 320 pixels TFT display with 262K colors, WAP 2.0 / xHTML and NetFront browsers, RSS reader, a 3.15 Megapixel camera with video recording, secondary camera for video calls, USB 2.0 and a Li-Po 950 mAh battery that should provide up to 9.5 hours of talk-time and about 360 hours of stand-by time.

Sony Ericsson W890 is not offered by any of the Indian mobile carriers, but it is available via RPG Cellucom, a leading handset and laptop retail chain, and also at Sony Ericsson Experience Stores across the country. The phone can be bought for 15,990 Indian Rupees (about 400 USD), a fair price considering its looks and features, and comes in three color versions: Espresso Black, Sparking Silver and Mocha Brown.
