Sony Ericsson's TM506 has been added to T-Mobile's offering a while ago, and it is known to be part of the carrier's 3G lineup in the 1700Mhz AWS spectrum. The handset has showed up in two flavors so far, namely Black and Emerald Green, and we learn that it will also be offered in a new Scarlet Red color option.

The new Scarlet Red TM506 includes support for 850 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz band frequencies, 3G capabilities, a 2.0-megapixel camera, which sports video recording capabilities, a Music player, Stereo Bluetooth 2.0 wireless technology, M2 Memory Stick slot, built-in GPS, speakerphone, Picture messaging, as well as support for T-Mobile's myFaves.

The TM506 also comes with support for instant messaging, including Yahoo!, MSN, and AOL. The phone measures 1.8 x 3.7 x 0.7 in, weighs no more than 3.6 oz, and packs a Li-Ion battery that is able to provide users with up to 7 hours of talk time as well as with up to 14 days of standby time. According to the specification list, the handset can also be used outside T-Mobile's wireless network.

Although the operator hasn't managed to cover the entire country with its 3G network, the Sony Ericsson TM506 supports the 1700Mhz 3G frequency. As many of you already know, the 3G data connection can provide leveraged transfer speeds when it comes to downloading new files onto your mobile phone, so the new Sony Ericsson handset should see some traction from users.

The Scarlet Red TM506 can already be seen on the T-mobile's official website with a suggested retail price set at $159.99. Users can also acquire the phone for only $49.99 with a mail-in rebate and after signing a two-year contract agreement.
