You've seen it before, at Vodafone, as the V640i

Sony Ericsson K630i, or the V640i that Vodafone has included in its Christmas lineup, has just been approved by FCC. This means that people in the US will soon receive it as well, probably just about when it will be available in European stores.

The FCC has provided the first real images of this handset, revealing its true face, although Sony Ericsson has made no official announcement on its release until now. The phone works in the tri-band (900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM network and also packs some interesting features.

Behind the plain, unappealing design, Sony Ericsson K630i proves to be a really evolved device. It has a 3 megapixel camera, capable of taking captures at a fairly impressive quality. It is supped to be like that after all, as this is a Cyber-shot phone, with great image and video shooting quality as its strong points.

This is also a 3G enabled mobile phone, which explains the secondary, front VGA camera that makes it possible to place video calls. There is also Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, a feature that most evolved handsets provide. USB should also be included, for easily transferring the captures from the handset to the PC and the other way around.

There are few specifications provided for this Sony Ericsson K630i mobile phone, but the ones that come are quite impressive. Vodafone said about its V640i phone only that it is 3G enabled, which seems to be the case with this one too. Just to make it clear that this is the same phone as the one this operator has introduced in its Christmas lineup, the FCC approved K630i handset still bears the Vodafone logo, although it will probably lose it soon enough for one of the US carriers.

Now that FCC has approved the Sony Ericsson K630i handset, there are high chances to see it in stores by the end of the year, although an exact release date is still unknown.
