New leaked pictures

We first heard about Sony Ericsson Emelie more than two weeks ago, when some images with it appeared on the Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog. Now there are even more images, leaked by the same SE-dedicated blog.

Like the first pictures, the new ones do not show the "entire" Emelie phone, but only a part of its silvery keypad and its display. Which is enough to make us think the handset is a candybar that probably has a pretty cool overall look, despite the fact that it's not a high-end device. But we've seen before mid to low-end phones that have a nice design, including Sony Ericsson's T303, so the new handset might also enter into this category.

The Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog says Emelie's official name could be Sony Ericsson K111, meaning that, according to the new naming nomenclature of the Swedish-Japanese producer, the phone is pretty low in features. But the few details known about Emelie are the ones that describe a mid-end device rather than a low-end one: 240 x 320 pixels display with 262k colors support and a 2.0 Megapixel camera. So the K111 name doesn't seem to be "fit" for the new phone. Anyway, the handset will probably not be named Emelie either, as this is just an unofficial codename.

Other features that Sony Ericsson Emelie apparently has include an A200-based operating system and an improved media menu, but until some official info about it appears, we can't be sure of anything.

Although Sony Ericsson will probably concentrate on promoting its Xperia X1 and Paris / P5 high-end phones in the next months, Emelie can also get a good share of mobile users' attention, especially if it comes with an affordable price tag and some nice features hidden under its case.
