An important part of the slightly over 22 million mobile users from Taiwan might want to know that, starting this month (October), Sony Ericsson will begin selling its C905 8 Megapixel handset on the Taiwanese market.

Besides being the first 8 Megapixel phone ever built by Sony Ericsson, the C905 will also be the first handset with such an evolved camera to be commercially available in Taiwan.

According to DigiTimes, the other 8 MP phones announced this year, like Samsung Innov8 and the full-touch LG KC910 Renoir, will be on sale across Taiwan only starting November. Thus, Sony Ericsson has a one-month advantage that will positively affect the sales of C905.

Part of the Cyber-shot series (logically), Sony Ericsson C905 is a slider that should, with its 8 Megapixel auto focus camera, offer a mobile photography experience that few other handsets can. The phone's camera also brings Xenon flash, image stabilizer, face detection, geotagging and a lens cover, hence it's not too far from a dedicated digital camera.

The other features of Sony Ericsson C905 include: a 2.4 inch TFT display with 256K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, accelerometer, quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, HSDPA connectivity GPS and A-GPS, NetFront browser, email and Instant Messaging, Wi-Fi, Music and Video players, TrackID music recognition, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, FM radio with RDS, 160MB of built-in memory and a 2GB card included in the package.

The Taiwanese retail price of Sony Ericsson C905 is not known for the moment, but it should be of about 500 Euros – hence somewhere around 22,000 TWD.

A month after the release of C905, other nice Sony Ericsson devices will hit Taiwan, including the Xperia X1 flagship smartphone (with its panel-based Windows Mobile 6.1 interface), the 5 Megapixel W902 Walkman candybar and the W595 slider.
