A Walkman and Cyber-shot phone

Sony Ericsson is probably the mobile manufacturer that benefits from the highest number of concept phones imagined by its fans. Or at least this is how it seems, as unofficial Sony Ericsson concepts keep on appearing one after another, bringing phones that many of us would want to become real. In the past two months, we had the K1 concept, the P7i concept and the more recent W520i concept, all of them created by SE dedicated fans.

Now we have a new concept called Sony Ericsson C1i, a phone that brings full touchscreen control and apparently it would be a Walkman and a Cyber-shot handset in a single device running Symbian UIQ. The new phone has a simple but highly elegant appearance, somewhat between LG Prada and Apple's iPhone, with only two hardware buttons, plus a 5-way navigation control key in the center. The handset offers a wide screen, one of the largest packed in a mobile phone, that should be perfect for anything you might want to use the phone for.

Other specs of Sony Ericsson C1i are unknown, as its creator from the esato forum didn't offer too many details, but, considering its looks, it would be more than nice if the phone will become real in the future. With an easy to use UIQ multi-touch interface, a big internal memory, a 5 Megapixel Cyber-shot camera and evolved music features, the C1i could very well be one of the next huge successes on the high-end phone market.

Sony Ericsson's Walkman and Cyber-shot series are very popular among mobile users, and a high-end phone that combines features from both series will almost surely be a hit. In 2007, the Japanese-Swedish joint-venture sold a total of 103 million handsets worldwide, and the sales are expected to grow in the next years. Hopefully, the C1i concept will be one of the phones included in the company's future line-up.
