The two major companies, Sony Ericsson and Saab, have teamed up to bring users the future of in-car experience. After already developing a connectivity application for Xperia X1, with the new agreement, the two are putting the 9-X Air concept car at the fingertips of mobile users.

We’ve all found ourselves in situations in which we have to use our mobile while driving, yet, at the same time, having to obey local legislation. Sony Ericsson and Saab are well aware of this and, in order to make driving and talking on the phone – at the same time – a safer experience, they have developed better in-car communication solutions.

Consequently, some of the Saab 9-3, 9-5 and 9-X models now feature either a Sony Ericsson car accessory (the new Bluetooth Car Speakerphone HCB-108 included) or full integrated on-board systems, which aim to provide drivers with the best in-car user experience for Bluetooth handset telephony. The devices have been give superior audio quality, thus making it easier to stay in touch while on the move. Also, drivers will be able to browse through their phonebook, place calls or answer them, all this while keeping their hands on the wheel and the eyes on the road. This could indeed mean less car accidents caused by in-car phone use.

The two companies are also working on more advanced ways of car-phone communications using Bluetooth technology. At the Paris Motor Show (October 4-19), Saab and Sony Ericsson will present the Saab 9-X Air, in which they incorporated advanced connectivity solutions. Also, some of the other cars presented will be remotely controlled by the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, so that solely by using the phone users will be able to set the ambient lightning, adjust the front and rear seat, lock the car, open the rear compartment, and also switch on and off the lights.
