The Xperia C4 was officially unveiled back in May. Previously known as Sony Cosmos, the Xperia C4 is a high-end Android smartphone that focuses on front camera.

According to Sony, the initial rollout of the Xperia C4 will be restricted to Asia-Pacific region, but the Japanese company expects the global release to be completed within the coming weeks.

Unfortunately, there are no details on pricing options yet, but as the smartphone makes its way into more markets, we will most certainly get more info on the matter.

Moving on to what makes this smartphone so special, Sony claims that Xperia C4 “is independently recognized as The World’s Best Selfie Smartphone.”

Even though there are quite a few other smartphones that come with 8- or even 13-megapixel cameras in the front, Sony claims that Xperia C4's 5-megapixel camera in the front is much better.

A high-end smartphone with a solid front-facing camera

Apparently, the Xperia C4's front-facing camera was tested against the competition in 6 different selfie situations, including outdoor, backlight, night time, and more, and the smartphone came out on top in every single scenario.

“What is not fully described in the report though is how Xperia C4 helps you to become a true master of the selfie. Inside the over-performing 5MP front camera you get smart apps for fun group pictures and original auto-portraits; It’s all designed to give you 'selfie confidence,'” says Sony in a blog post.

The rest of the Xperia C4's specs are pretty decent, as the phone comes with a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor, a Mali-T760MP2 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

The smartphone also packs an advanced 13-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

Sony Xperia C4 also sports a 5.5-inch Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features scratch-resistant coating.
