The undergoing Leipzig Game Convention saw even hotter announcements from Sony Online Entertainment's camp, as the third expansion pack for Everquest II: Echoes of Faydwer is close to completion. An in-game trailer was also released to showcase the main features implemented in the next installment, introducing the Fae. Everquest II: Echoes of Faydwer is expected to be available on November 14, in retail and by digital distribution, for a suggested retail price of $39.99.

As an enchanted playable race of winged creatures, the Fae are native to the continent of Faydwear and reside in the arboreal city of Kelethin. Their influence has grown stronger in the days following the great devastation and now they seek to once again roam freely in Norrath. But there can be no peace in the restless lands of Faydwer, as the abandoned subterranean city of Ak'Anon has been taken over by the Clockworks. With hope in their hearts, the original Gnome inhabitants turn to the Fae for assistance and within this storyline many of the new dungeons will unfold their perils in the expansion.

The latest chapter in the Everquest II saga offers a new starting town fitted with over 350 quests, a great selection of profession hats, armor and horse mounts available to players of all levels and expertise. The introduction of cloaks as an additional item slot will furthermore individualize your character's appearance. Gameplay is enhanced with over 40 new types of creatures to face, including deadly and unique bosses spread over more than 20 new zones and adventure areas. Armor sets were introduced to the loot table to provide substantial bonuses with each additional piece, along with improvements to the Player vs Player rewards, new items, spells and tradeskill recipes. Following the direction set by the Kingdom of Sky expansion, the achievement system has been enhanced to include sub-class abilities, allowing great new gameplay strategies to emerge from character ability customization.
