These are the lower-cost models in the line, albeit still not dirt-cheap

In addition to the ZX1 and new F-series walkmans, Sony has released the more approachable S series and M series as well.

And by approachable, I mean that they are actually a lot more affordable than the others. They still pack a good financial punch, but not a massive one.

To start off, the M Series, with 16 GB capacity, comes in a tube-like form factor and costs $182 / €134, give or take. That's 18,000 Yen in Japan.

The E Line is actually cheaper, with 4 GB storage and $111 / €82 to its name. It's made for athletes, or anyone who enjoys a good jog.

That leaves the S series, with 32 GB storage, 320 x 240 pixels LCD and, once again, 18,000 Yen / $182 / €134 price.

Sales will start on October 19, and it so happens that Sony also has a waterproof in-ear headphone set scheduled for release on the same day (15,000 Yen / $152 / €112).
