Beside all those gaming consoles, 3D HDTVs, digital cameras, notebooks and camcorders, Sony's also manufacturing quite a few more “mundane” products, including here the Microvault USB flash drives, and the reason we've mentioned them is related to the fact that the company has just added yet another model to this lineup, called Style. As its name suggests, the new flash drive offers quite an attractive external design, sporting a white or limited-edition pink and lime green color, as well as a bright yellow-green LED on top of the drive, that blinks actively whenever the user's transferring date to or from the storage unit.

Furthermore, carrying the new Microvault Style around will be the least of one's concerns, given the fact that it's just 4.6mm slim and weighs just 4g, while its capless, sliding design ensures the fact that the USB connector will be perfectly protected at all times, without having to worry about possibly losing the protective cap.

Plus, the tiny unit will also be able to provide plenty of storage space, since it will be available in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB versions.

The new flash drive from Sony also grants users access to a couple of very interesting and useful software applications, such as File Rescue, that recovers accidentally damaged or deleted files, as well as x-Pict Story, that combines photos and music with various visual effects to create professional-looking presentations.

Additionally, the integration with Picture Motion Browser software makes it quick and easy to upload slideshows to sharing sites, such as Facebook or YouTube.

Pricing for the new Microvault Style USB flash drives will depend largely on the local markets, but we're likely to find out more details on this topic in the near future, given the fact that these things will hit the shelves at some point over the course of February 2011.
