Owners of the Sony Action Cam, a camcorder designed for outdoor use, will be happy to hear that their camera has just received a new firmware update.

The new soft will bring about a bunch of new feats, most notability the ability to perform live video streaming, among other things.

The new firmaware update is targeted at the Sony Action Cam AS100V (the white model). The content you shoot using it will end up being livestreamed to USTREAM.

This is the first time such a feature is added to any of Sony’s Action Cams. But in order to take advantage of the feat, users need to download the Network Setting Tool to their respective computers and add in their camera’s setting.

Apart from the livestreaming aspect, Sony is throwing in some new feats for the still image model, including Burst Still Shooting mode, Motion Shoot LE (Limited Edition) and Self Timer mode, allowing users to take photos of themselves without needing an extra set of hands to do so.

Also, note that the AS30V camcorder has received a new update as well, which doesn't offer livestreaming. Nevertheless, it updates the auto exposure module and multiple cameras can be controlled using Live-View Remote.

You can download both firmware updates from Softpedia right now.
