One of the biggest digital imaging events in the world is approaching at a fast pace, as we’re just a few months apart from the kickstart of Photokina 2014 in Germany.

We’re already expecting top manufacturers to launch a slew of new devices at the event and Sony is certainly one of them.

According to the latest information that showed up on the website of famous Indonesian agency Postel, Sony is prepping to unleash a new E-mount full frame camera (as seen as Sony Alpha Rumors).

The rumor mill has been whispering for some time now that a new Sony FE-mount camera will be introduced around September, just when Photokina is scheduled to begin. And the fact that a product codenamed WW023482 has been registered with the Indonesian agency only sediments the theory even further.

You might remember that similar codenames were used in the case of the A7 or A7R models. Last time such a codename was spotted making rounds, the A7s was announced in 3-4 weeks’ time.

The retail name for the WW023482 product hasn't been specified so far, but a trusted source familiar with the matter speculated that this might be the Sony A9 camera, which in all possibility could turn out to be a “high-end” mirrorless camera.

You should take this information with a big grain of salt, because at this moment we really don’t have much to count on, except the Indonesian listing. But as we advance towards Photokina, details about the WW023482 will surely starting appearing and we’ll know more.

Also, it should be mentioned that the A7 and A7R will not be replaced by the new mirrorless, but we’re expecting more information to see what’s what.

While we wait to see on the developments, this is as good time as any to remind you that Sony hasn't probably abandoned its A-mount series.

Word on the street has it that a super telephoto lens with focal length of 400mm and maximum aperture of f/4 is probably going to arrive among us soon enough.

The new lens is being called the Sony f/4 G lens and chances are it will become official until 2014 comes to an end. So in all probability, we’re going to see it arrive at Photokina 2014.

The new 400mm can be considered a follow-up of the 500mm f/4 G A-mount lens, which currently sells for a massive $13,000 / €9,654. However, the rumor mill claims the 400mm will be sold for a more affordable price.
