Sony A7/A7R are some of the most popular mirrorless cameras on the market thanks to their amazing image quality that rivals the best digital SLR cameras on the market (Nikon D800, D800E) due to its integrated full-frame image sensor.

Both cameras pack almost the same features with Sony A7 having a smaller 24MP sensor, while its pricier sibling comes with a 36MP image sensor.

If you enjoy scuba diving and would like to take your Sony A7/A7R camera with you to capture the amazing fauna and flora found in some parts of the world, you should invest in a professional underwater housing that will allow you to submerge your camera at a depth of up to a 100m (328ft).

Nauticam is a US-based camera underwater housing manufacturer that provides professional solutions for a wide range of digital cameras, from compact and mirrorless cameras to DSLRs and medium format digital cameras.

Recently, the company unveiled a few new products designed to fit the Olympus OM-D E-M1 (NA-EM1), Canon PowerShot G16 (NA-G16) or the popular compact Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (NA-BMPCC).

Taking advantage of Sony's A7/A7R popularity, the company has just announced a new underwater housing, the NA-A7 that can fit the aforementioned Sony cameras, allowing you to submerge them at an up-to-100m (328ft) depth.

The new NA-A7 model comes with an integrated handle system, similar with the one found on Nauticam's SLR housings that offers an improved grip allowing you to keep the camera stable in any shooting conditions.

For this housing, Nauticam designed a completely new port system that can fit only the FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS and Sony Sonnar T* FE 35mm f/2.8 ZA lenses for the moment, but the company promises that it will offer support for all Sony lenses that make sense for underwater use.

Moreover, the patent pending EVF/LCD switch allows you to quickly switch between the two whenever needed. The NA-A7 also includes a pre-installed Nikonos style 5-pin bulkhead with universal hotshoe connection that allows you to manually control most underwater strobes available on the market.

If you want to know more about this underwater housing, you can check out a full list of features on the official Nauticam website. Pricing and availability are yet to be revealed.
