The Sony A6000 camera has been introduced in February, but back then we didn't have any availability details, so many of us were left wondering when they might be getting their hands on the device.

Well, now reports are coming in saying Sony has already started shipping out pre-orders in markets like Asia or Europe (via SonyAlpha Rumors). This could also mean those of you who didn't place a pre-order for the camera might soon be able to run down at your local photo shop and pick up the camera from there.

We still don’t know the logistics regarding the North American launch but, according to Sony US the camera is set to arrive on the April 15. Anyway for those of you who need a refresh, the A6000 is one of Sony’s new mirrorless cameras.

The camera should carve out a place for itself between the Sony NEX-5T and Sony A65 DSRL. The A600 bundles a 24.3MP sensor and its ISO goes as far as 25,600. That should allow photography to snap pics in low lighting conditions without the need of flash.

Sony has also said the A6000 will come equipped with a very fast-auto focus system, capable to lock on the subject extremely quickly. So far that’s just a claim, but as the device ships out, it can be verified whether this is the case or not.

Expect the Sony A6000 to cost $800 / €578 for the bundle with the kit lens and $650 / €470 for the body-only pack.
