Sony has announced the successor of its NEX-3 mirrorless camera at this year's CES show in Las Vegas and, as of now, the A5000 is the world's smallest and lightest mirrorless camera on the market.

Although the camera has not yet been shipped and it's currently available for pre-order with a launch date set to March 19, Sony US as well as BHphoto are listing the A5000 with a $100 / €73 discount, which takes its price down to just $499.99 / €371.

This is quite a surprise if we take into consideration that the camera hasn't reached market shelves yet. Those who have already pre-ordered the A5000 should check whether the $100 discount applies to their pre-order or they will have to make a new one.

Sony A5000 features a 20.1MP Exmor CMOS sensor, BIONZ X image processor, 180-degree tiltable LCD screen, increased ISO sensitivity of up to ISO16,000, Wi-Fi and NFC support.
