A .22 caliber bullet in the head for innocent requests

And they say video games are to blame for violence! Well, it seems that some harsher things can happen when just a console is involved. The good news here is that, finally, this is one of the few stories with a happy end. So you can read on without worrying. Just prepare to be surprised.

Because in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, an innocent request went crazy after a 17 year old boy asked his 60 years old father to take a look at his Xbox 360. The parent, James Stanley Niedosik, didn't want to do such childish things, though, so a big argument ensued out of nothing. During this dispute, the teenager handed his father a rifle and told him to shoot and Niedosik did it.

Pause! First - why on Earth would a 17 year old have access to a rifle and why on Earth would he throw such a thing to a person he's having a fight with? Oh, yes, it was his father. Then, let's rephrase that. Why on Earth would a father shoot his son for something like "take a look at my Xbox, dad"? Some strange things happen in this world, unfortunately.

Back to the story: the boy suffered from a .22 caliber bullet lodged in his skull behind his ear and was treated at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Although you can imagine that this is a serious thing, the boy survived and is currently in hospital, heavily sedated. And that is a good thing to know.

His father was arrested and put under a $250,000 bail, charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child. The boy's mother and Niedosik's ex-wife, Jeanie, believes that everything "was an accidental thing that took place", even though she did not witness the incident. And that's an interesting way to see the whole story, as a mother. As I said, strange things do happen.
